The altered portrait that was the hardest to make was to me the hand colored photos. Its hard to make them because its hard to give a black and white photo some color and make the photo stand out more. It required a lot of patience to make sue your colored within the area of what you were coloring.
The altered portrait that was easiest to create was the backlit image because there wasn't too much editing needed unlike the hand colored. The placement of your model was the key to the backlit, making sure you had the sun directly in back of the model.
An altered portrait means a image that has been changed in some way to look different is what a viewer would say. To a photographer an altered image means taking a picture and completely changing an image and making it have a different type of emotional pull.
Out of all of the altered portraits I'll most likely make the image overlay and the backlit images because they are my favorites to create and i understand how to edit them a lot more than the other altered image.
For the cyanotype the historical technique is people was take a picture and do this whole process with the sun and after the pictured was finished they would hand color the picture to give it the blue look.
It is important to learn how to create altered photos because it improves your skills as an editor and you can create many more types of pictures.
In my opinion not all photos shouldn't be altered because altering a photo can cause it to change the whole photo, but if you took a photo that you really like the way it is it's not necessary to alter it.
If you alter a portrait what it allows you to do is give or take away some pop and life that the portrait can have. A portrait can be drastically different and it can have some cool effects if you alter it.
Blur Motion

Blur Motion is when a particular subject is in motion and a picture is taken where they are in focus but you can still see the movement they were doing or the background was doing.
I created my images by having my subject create some type of movement and i would turn the shutter speed really low to capture their movement and then at the perfect timing i would take the picture and it the picture would have this ghostly effect.
What I then did to the images in photoshop was i would turn up the contrast and vibrance so it looks really clean and crisp and then i would mess with the colors either turning them black and white are using hue to make the image stand out a lot more.
What was difficult about shooting was learning how to time the shot and making sure my hands were steady and making sure the subject was in focus.
The easiest part was editing the photos because I already knew what I wanted to do with them and how I wanted them to look and I would say I'm better at editing than taking the actual pictures.
